The Fourth Generation was written with the objective of highlighting the historical and political circumstances in Macedonia which contributed to the emigration of our forefathers from their homeland to Australia in order to pursue prosperous lives and build a better future for their families and future generations.
Many of the families interviewed in this book, have given us their life story confirming our tradition of strong family and community connections. They demonstrate in their stories how coming to this unknown country to begin a new life wasn’t easy. Their stories tell us about the hardships and the struggles they endured in their home land as a divided country and how they searched for a better life abroad.
